Formally known as Chrysanthemums, Mums are easily referred to as Fall's Favorite Flower. Mums are known for coming in a wide variety of colors. Mums rely on sun and grow best when the rooted cuttings are planted immediately. Some growers prefer to plant the cuttings in smaller containers first, then later transport them into larger containers. Depending on the cultivar, mums typically flower between September 10th and October 10th.
Marigold
No flower can bring a rainbow filled with brass, copper and gold quite like a Marigold. The Marigold is a derivative of the European plant Mary's Gold. The Marigold is an easy-going plant that thrives off of sunlight. Marigolds are slower to grow and best if planted after the last frost. Typically blooming 45-60 days after sowing, Marigold's continue to bloom until frost. Marigold's can easily survive the hottest of summers, making them a hot commodity in the South.
